BEATTY COHAN, MSW. LCSW is a nationally recognized psychotherapist, author, speaker, news paper columnist and national radio and television personality. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and has post-graduate specialization in marital and family therapy and sexual dysfunction. She has had over 30 years of clinical experience, has had extensive national television and radio exposure, has published hundreds of articles in newspapers and magazines and is a very popular speaker. In 2004, Governor Jeb Bush appointed her to Florida’s prestigious Commission on Marriage and Family Support Initiatives.
Beatty has been in the national radio and television scene for over 20 years. She currently is a regular expert guest on CNN’s Nancy Grace, Tru TV (Court TV) and DAYTIME, an NBC syndicated television show. She was the resident on-air psychotherapist on WFTS, Tampa’s ABC affiliate, Sarasota’s ABC affiliate and the New York Times television affiliate in Sarasota, Florida where she provided live psychological commentary and analysis about hard news stories on her ASK BEATTY segment. Beatty has done PBS Specials, starred in two 10-part ASK BEATTY Specials at ABC in Providence and WRGB in Albany, has hosted her own ASK BEATTY television and radio call-in shows, was resident psychotherapist and sex therapist for the ABC affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island, was an expert media resource for NBC and FOX in Boston and has appeared on many national television and radio shows to promote her book.
BEATTY has been and continues to be interviewed by national magazines, including Ladies Home Journal, Parents, Redbook, the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Estylo, Women’s Day and other who seek her expert advice in the area of relationships.
BEATTY has competed in amateur sports in Canada on the provincial and national levels in figure skating, tennis, badminton and table tennis, where she captured numerous titles in all of these sports.
BEATTY’s greatest is having a loving and wonderful relationship with husband Elliot and with her 25-year old daughter Jordana who is a professional photographer .
